TRAN SIBERIAN ADVENTURE LAST POST
FEBRUARY 2, 2012 THE DAY AFTER
THURSDAY
All in all it was a great trip. Lots of time for reflection, prayer, and quiet time. I am so glad that we decided to do it. We have hardly any signs of jetlag, so that is great.
We had sort of a lazy day. We slept all night, yay. We woke up at 9 am and the sun still hasn't risen over Siberia. I had forgotten how late the sun rises in winter. If God doesnt raise the sun, then why should we haha. It reminds me though, how God is never late. He is always right on time, not according to our plans, but according to His way and His purpose. Who are we to say when it is best for the sun to rise. Or when someone should be healed, or when our visas should be required, or when our children should leave home and go to Africa. Who are we to decide how long we will stay in Russia, or how sick we might get. Who are we to decide if we fall on the ice and have back surgery. Who are we to decide who accepts His grace, or how many churches or groups are started, or even how they are started. It doesnt mean that we don't pray about these things, be safe, or work toward God wise goals, but when it is all said and done. HE DECIDES...and I am so grateful for that.
We doodled around the house until Caleb woke up. We had great Bible study and prayer time. Michael was in Grace's room. Caleb set me up a little area with a tv tray in the corner by the couch..has all my Bible study stuff and a little candle (same scent as the gel Reagan gave me for Christmas) yum.. and a picture of grace, freda and caleb and all our kids, my ibible, and my ipod shuffle, and the calendar Hannah gave me. I LOVE IT, AND MY JOURNAL.
I made some fried potatoes with onions, does anything smell better than that...besides fried chicken, that is.
We watched the first show of the latest season of Biggest Loser. After being in American for 6 months, michael and I could prolly get on the show bahahaha... seriously we love this show, maybe it makes us feel better about ourselves and keeps us motivated to exercise...if they can, we can. Sasha thinks it funny...he calls the show "TOLSTI LUDI" (FAT PEOPLE) It sounds rude in English, but the way he says it in russian, it is quite funny. We cleaned and organized some more around the apartment and I washes more clothes. It takes 2 hours for one load to wash and several hours for them to dry, we have one line in the hallway and we hang them over doors and chairs and fans and heaters etc.... The loads are also much much smaller, as the washing machine is small. I will have to get used to that again. The one advantage to that is that clothes actually get put away faster and dont pile up.
Reagan called and we got to talk to him a really long time. He has exams coming up, is finished with all his classes. It is hard to believe that he will be finishing in a week and graduating in May. Bryan will graduate in May too, but has to do his student teaching and one other class till then. We are so proud of both of them, for persevering and working so hard. God is good. His promises and purposes never fail. NEVER....
Heading out the door to the Stremetskis and to our SASHA. We got all their gifts together and taking some fruit and juice..cant wait for their hugs and tackles and squells of laughter. Can't wait to show off Eli's album. There is going to be some oooing and awwwing for sure.
